Shocking REVIEW of the TORO 60v TIMEMASTER
My shocking review of the TORO 60v TIMEMASTER. This is my honest review of this Toro lawn mower. Do you think it is really worth $2400?! The Toro 60v E-TimeMaster is the newest version of the classic TimeMaster without the gas. I've used the original TimeMaster for two years and I was excited to get my hands on this new mower but in this video you'll see I point out some MAJOR flaws and shortcomings for a mower at this price point.

Growing A NEW Lush Lawn from Bermuda Sprigs

In this video I talk about growing in my new lawn from bermuda sprigs. I discuss the grow in process from the time the sprigs were put down all the way to the point that the lawn was completely grown in and went dormant in the fall. Transforming this area that was once tall fescue to this elite cultivar of bermuda was an extremely satisfying experience and I learned a lot from this process. Thi...

Liquid & Mechanical Aeration Benefits // John Perry Explains the Research
I decided to try the etimemaster. I've been using the gas powered timemaster for 5 years now. I mow 25 lawns a week and you are correc, it will leave stragglers which is very disappointing. I did put the timemaster blades on and I mow on the high setting which helps a lot, but your batteries go very fast. I have found that on the regular setting, with the regular timemaster blades on, I cut about 1000 square feet per amp hour of battery. I also noticed that cutting at the d level(2.75 inches) gives you a good flat cut with maybe a rare straggler. The pros of the etimemaster are the quietness, the power(it can cut tall thick grass with ease where the gas version would struggle, no smelling of fumes all day and the deck never gets plugged up which was a big surprise to me. I bought the etimemaster for a big discount so I thought why not.
Awesome camera work 💪🏻
Thank you!
The Southern California Salton sea disaster has added a new chapter. Mold. And I would conjecture human respiratory illness. My ash tree is sick from mold. I am sick from respiratory illness. Because lithium mining requires lots of water that is often vaporized the dispersal of fog has been significantly thick fog. Trees that are desert semi arid trees succumb to the fog from lithium mining and grow mold and fungus. I would hypothesize that many trees are covered in mold this year. The fog has been really thick on the Southern California coast. Even worse it was noted that the polar ice cap northern hemisphere was being reduced from 2000 until present day. I did a mathematical projection that the southern polar ice cap would be melted significantly in 150 to 360 years. Therefore death will spread from the effects of overheating. In October 1999 I was told a nuclear bomb had detonated at the Salton sea. I was sent to a conference of federal bank examiners at la quinta resort when the announcement was made. A nitrogen bomb went off at the conference when the nuclear bomb detonated. It was I believe exactly 10 a.m. when the second nuclear bomb detonated. Reports say the Hector mine earthquake occurred at 9:45 a.m. that day. Therefore I would hypothesize two nuclear bombs detonated that day. A crack in the earths surface was opened to expose magma in the Salton sea. Magma is needed to cook a large volume of lithium. I was told when I was being tortured in May 2024 at a eye doctors clinic in minnesota . There is no Salton sea. There is no lithium. They did not see the bullet hole in my eye socket that had been pointed out and I saw in March 2024 on a remote exam at another clinic in minnesota. My eye was swelling and leaking The bombs had given me a concussion and 24 year amnesia. The robbery in November 1999 gave me 18 year amnesia. Eventually the industrial saltwater will come up from below the earths crust and enter the fresh water sources. If I had a child I would tell them to prepare to leave the usa if they have no assets. We are ruled by the opaque block. They detonated the Salton sea bombs and robbed the fdic. They have placed lies on my federal medical documents and I am attacked when seeking healthcare in the USA. I am considering moving to iran and getting an opium prescription for my headaches. My head has been ripped to pieces and now I am. being tortured. The attacks on New York City in 2001 was bombs placed in the buildings. No planes were involved. I saw a tank on video that misfired and melted the supporting wall and rolled into the street. I want to bring about euthanasia clinics with fentanyl The addicts of the drug in SeAttle and San Francisco die in the streets. I would rather be dead in a clinic than a maimed American in the streets with low quality death drugs . We have no healthcare and no support from the opaque block. I hope they are destroyed even if it kills us. They really hurt me in 2024 May. I can’t seem to recover. They overdosed me when I was hostage and gave me brain damage. They were following me when I left and into the next day when I fled the state. I have to leave the usa to get healthcare. Never trust the USA governments They are ruled by the opaque block. The cracking of the earths crust may bring about the end of life as we know it. I a experiment of sorts am not really human. I look forward to my death and I hope to never live among lower animals like humans ever again Kurt Brown Saintrambone Mobile Audit Club
So how did the ph lowering process w/Grassfactor turn out. Love to see a follow up video on that and whether it worked or not. Doing a similar plan here and you are a couple years ahead of me. Thanks!
Here's the video I posted a while back showing the improved results and while explaining what all I did. ruclips.net/video/cKHmtT1_pyw/видео.htmlsi=e1_7GcvUHxyGIc8S
Here's a short I put together that shows continued improvements over 3 seasons using the same methods in the video I just linked in my previous comment. ruclips.net/user/shortsGYcKepE_imM?si=HrAInP96P7CGfelt
@@TheLawnGuardian yep love it and saw it. Love an update!
@@beguhn what would you like an update on? I showed the continued improvements for 3 seasons from 2020 - 2023, demonstrating that the process is working.
@@TheLawnGuardian one of your comments was hidden. I will go back and watch the ones I missed. TU again!
How high above scalp height are you going to maintain it at?
In this particular video I was scalping down to .5" from 1" because I was getting it ready to verticut and top dress with sand. I'll probably continue to maintain it between .75" and 1" once it recovers from everything.
awesomeness!!
Thank you! Cheers!

Do you remember how often you were applying the ammonium sulfate at that low rate?
What size did you get? I’m thinking about getting one but unsure what size to go for, I have a 5k square foot yard.
I got the 20"
are you mulching or bagging? I have the same dead material, but i just bought a new collection mower as opposed to mulching. So i'll see if that helps.
Great review Ben , you can actually tell the difference in the cut quality between the 2 there's nothing better than a gas mower in my opinion.
There's a big time difference between these two. Thank you for watching!
Glad to see you back! Thanks for the review,I was this close to buying the battery timemaster. This video definitely gives me pause
Thank you for coming back to watch my video. I'm glad you found this helpful. Have a great lawn care season!
I have the basic 60 volt Toro. I agree that it is the rpm's, that the electric motor can not produce high RPM's. I have tried the bagging system and it sucks. I would imagine if you tired the gas powered blade on the 60 volt ,it would burn the motor up. I would say that if Toro wanted create a system that #1 produce higher rpm's and a blade engage system ,it would be much heavier and much more expensive. I had the transmission go out on my 60 volt after about 3 years. I opted to but another 60 volt mower. It was over $500.00! when I bought my first one in 2021 it was about $300.00! I will say that the Toro mower I have cuts a really nice lawn. I will say that my lawn is a mixture of wild grass and some Centipede.
I forgot to mention this in the video but according to Toro's website the 60v TimeMaster is actually slightly heavier than the version. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Nice video.
Thank you!
If toro put the same blade on the Toro 60v E-TimeMaster that is on the gas one it would cut down the mowing time because of the drag of the blade.
That is correct and I have had several people tell me that they put the higher lift blades on it and while it helped the cut quality it still wasn't like the gas TimeMaster. Like you said they also said it impacted the run time. I think the E-TimeMaster just needs a complete redesign if they want to keep it as an option.
Your comment at 7:58 gets easily resolved by changing the blades. Of course its going to have lower lift because it comes with low lift blades... Put the high lift blades on, run on max and you get the same clean cut as the gas. I have had both and cut quality is the same when it has the same oem high lift blades. They also help with filling the bag just like the gas. It's night and day difference.
I have heard from others that the high lift blades don't fix the problem and they also begin to shorten the run time. Also as I said later in the video after spending $2400 plus tax on a new walk behind mower, you shouldn't have to spend additional money just to improve the cut quality. At this price for a walk behind mower, it should be perfect right out of the box.
@@TheLawnGuardian I agree, It's too much for a mower and it should come with the same high lift blades as the regular one. Toro just wanted to extend the battery life so that they could market that much mowing time. I knew this beforehand so I spent the $30 for a pair of proper blades and it cuts much better now. My gas sadly was a POS mower and had too many issues but I liked the time savings and the wider cut so I didn't want to go back to a 21". Overall I don't think this mower should be 2,400 but I also don't think the gas version should be 1,600. Both are too much $$ for what they are but not much competition.
@@GC-kk4et right on. I've had several people tell me that the quality of cut improved with high lift blades but it still wasn't great or comparable to the gas TimeMaster. Glad it's working for you though. Poor cut quality aside at $2400 the E TimeMaster is still missing a lot of key features that I mentioned in the video that many other battery, while smaller, 21" mowers have. I'm glad you like this mower though, to each their own. I hope you have a great lawn care season! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Shocking, Toro makes a piece of shit mower. Doesn't surprise me.
Damn find points you brought up man!
Thank you!
It wasn't that long ago that the Timemaster with the 223cc Briggs was a pretty good buy at $1,000... but the electric version doesnt seem to hit the mark. Good review and appreciate your transparency!
No problem. Thanks for checking it out. I wish it was a better review for this mower.
What was the HOC on both mowers? I wonder if the E-Timemaster would have better suction at lower cut height.
They were both at the same HOC setting on setting C (3.25"), which is a pretty standard HOC for rotary mowers to be able to cut really well.
Are there any accessory add-ons for the electric version to make it as deafeningly loud as the gas version? I don't want to miss out on any valuable permanent hearing loss opportunities.
🤣
The electric mower is pretty sweet. Unfortunately I have no use for it since I got my lawn to go emo a few years ago. Now it cuts itself.
How do you make your lawn go emo?
@@TheLawnGuardian First you have to get it into punk. Once that it is done you simply start making its day-to-day marginally difficult so that it will be prepared for life. From there it naturally progresses to becoming emo.
@@charliehicks6811 have you experimented with other genres to see the lawns response?
@@TheLawnGuardian Indeed I have. Rock and metal made it super fun to hang out with but it grew like crazy. Country made it obsessed with crap beer, pickup trucks, and tight jeans along with sounding like it had a rock bottom IQ. Rap and hip-hop made it too materialistic and prone to gun violence and it had the same IQ problem as country. Emo just made it cut itself. So I stopped there. It was a win-win.
@@charliehicks6811 🤣 how does grass show signs of being too materialistic?
Great review sir!
Thank you, Paul. Just keepin' it real. No BS.
I know i'm 4 years late on this video but my yard just got decimated by fungus. I overwatered it, due to 110F heat. Thinking i was deep watering, i overwatered.. Now i'm covering the yard in fungicides. Meanwhile my neighbors yards are fine and they don't even pay attention. Guess I killed my yard with kindness.
Maybe this has been answered but what part of the US is this?

What kind of Bermuda grass is that?
Not entirely sure. It's either common or wild bermuda.

At first glance I thought it was an allett
Isn't it amazing one country's obsession with one plant?!
Sensational 💯
@lawn guardian. How do you like it?
I love it. It's built like a tank and feels very solid.
@TheLawnGuradian I'm thinking of putting iron cutter in yard. I have tall fescue and with our heat we have high 90's-100's with no humidity in summer. Fescue wants to check out with temps over 100 at least it puts a lot of stress on it. We have long summers and doesn't cool down until November with temps in the 70's. I'm thinking of doing sod. What would you recommend after doing the work? Sprigs vs sod. I have distributors around my area that do offer the sod. It's about $2000 for 2000 sq ft that I have in the back yard. Hardest part will be leveling it correctly for reel mowing. Thanks, Ben.
Sprigs will be cheaper but obviously there is a longer time before you have a lawn compared to sod. Sprigging has a bit more work up front to get it going and there is always the chance of wash out, especially if your lawn is sloped. If it flat washout won't be too big a problem. There is far less variables that can make a sod job go wrong. In regards to things not being smooth for reel mowing, things don't need to be perfectly smooth to start reel mowing. With either option you can always gradually top dress each season to smooth it out. I hope this helps. Good luck with everything. Feel free to email or DM me on IG too if you have any more questions.
I bought this weed eater one week ago. Today the motor started smoking after less than 10 min of use. It even has little black plastic pieces falling out the sides of the motor. The battery was fully charged. Total junk.
Looks awesome ✅✅✅✅✅
Thank you!
How is the bermuda doing? I'm looking into Monaco myself for next year.
It's doing fantastic. I haven't had a minute to make an update video and hope to at some point but overall it's doing really well.
@TheLawnGuardian What are your thoughts on Tahoma 31 vs Iron Cutter? Thanks
I have heard great things about T31. I'm partial to Iron Cutter but I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.
Just my two cents, but why the constant background music/sound effects. So very distracting. Don’t follow the crowd, just cause other people do it certainly doesn’t make it “right”
Looking great my friend! 👍🏼
Thank you, John!
You did citric acid 1lb/1000 sq ft but how much water did you dilute it in when using your sprayer?
People are funny,... They think if you have a deeper deck it keeps the grass in longer to chop it up LOL. What a deeper Deck really does, A deeper deck provides more updraft from the blades pulling the grass up evenly so the blades can make an even cut, a deeper deck will provide a more even cut. If you want to chop up the clippings better, buy Gator blades. People that don't understand how grass is really cut shouldn't do reviews or at least claim their reviews are knowledgeable to people that are trying to research for a purchase.
@lawnguardian Looking to do something similar. (I'm out in Ofallon, MO) About how much did the bushels run you? I'm looking to cover 3600 square feet. How many bushels would you recommend?
I paid $3 a bushel and the sod farmer recommended 200 for the 4500 sqft I was covering. I'm not sure what the recommendation would be for 3600sqft. Maybe around 150 - 160 bushels. Not 100% sure though.

On the head there is a lock and unlock. I cannot twist the head to unlock. Also what is the lock and unlock for?
Have the kobalt 80v trimmer and it is amazing
Gonna go pick one up tomorrow after work. Gave up on my gas one, as much as I've put into it over the last few days to get it running to no avail I could've just bought one of these.
You are in which zone?
This thing is already failing no more than half a dozen uses. Absolute POS as the motor is already failing. Charged battery 100% and still poop.
If you have to transplant frequently, I would suggest using a Dyna-Diggr! It will save you time and energy!
